Launched from F2 with intentions of attacking 193. It became quite obvious very quickly that there was way too much action in the area for us to go there so we loitered around for a bit counting a/c all around us before heading north. After one disco and one a/c lost due to a inadvertent prop strike we arrived over 141 to help there. We took out some ground vehicles and then headed to F17 to rearm. We got there just ahead of an attack by 109s so we sat and waited hoping we would not be stranded there for the night.

Once the attack ended we rolled and headed behind their lines and attacked and closed a small airfield at 259. We then headed south and found 3 big freighters and sunk them.

We are flying the IL2 but its taking a little getting used to. Its very sluggish to pull off of attacks when slow and we are used to turning and attacking rapidly to keep our time over the target down. It wants to be flown in wider shallower turns. We are learning.

You said it!

I think the question was asked several times last night " is it just me or are the dots disappearing faster than normal?"

I believe all our losses were due to the mushy elevator action and the flight characteristics of a wallowing pig. :)
yep... pilot error. (me included)
