S3 Series

The 4FG upped 14 (1 GCI) from 119 in P-47s NOE to 112. We started climb at 34 and GCI reported two formations of LW turning to intercept. We hit the target and caused moderate damage, then turned west and NOE back to 119.
Sortie 2 we switched to P-51s for bomber escort. RV with everyone over 24 and proceeded to 115 with 4FG in lead. Abot 20 nm SW of 115 we were engaged by LW and a furball ensured with some of us heading back to help cover the BUFFs. 1 loss due to enemy action.
Sortie 3, again upped to escort the BUFFs back to 115/43. Large furball ensued west on 117 and continued through the targets with most LW being chased down and away from the BUFF group. After escorting the BUFFs safely west we headed to intercept the LW attack on our port to the NW. The LW escaped by recovering further to the NW. Good night. <S> bombr-
