Please link or post any good WW2 maps out there showing airfields battles etc. Do the usual net search but some theatres just dont have much. Any info is helpful while terrains are in the planning process.

Thanks in advance

The shorter runway on the right in the Henderson Field photos were for the fighters. The longer one was the bomber runway. The fighter strip was added on right before the Marines, Navy and AAF wiped out the last Tokyo Express run in January of 1943. The bomber runway was the original runway that the Japanese started and the American finished after the invasion.

Some good maps here:
http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/ams/index.html
some are post war, but the configurations would probably still be correct

Map links don't work. Every one I click on, sends back an error messages.

<S> Robin,
that's odd you're not getting through. I just tried them and no problems.
I've sometimes found the same maps separately on the web or directly to the map without the index list
they are from Army Map Service Topographic Map Series in the Perry-Castañeda Library Map Collection at utexas.edu

appears to be lots of airfield maps on these sites, just need to search for airfields to get to the section these pics were taken from. :)
