Jabo:

Who started out the new S3 season placing the 4th in the Axis Side. We very seldom fly AXIS and as far as I know, only when agreed to by 4th HDQTRs prior to being placed in the AXIS side.

We as the 4th under our original charter with the Real 4th Fighter Squadron excepted their requirement that we only fly Allied as the 4th FG.

Additionally, I question why the number or pilots on each side are not more even. 58 Allied to 44 Axis doesn't seem to be set up equally.

I am currently serving as Acting CO until our elections are completed. I don't feel I can wait until all of our FG business is over to address this issue.

I don't really know if these are legitimate concerns but feel I should address these issues to make note so these concerns can be open to discussion

when our Groups business is finished.

The number of Axis aircraft previously flown by the 4th FG can be viewed here:
http://www.errthum.com/troy/warbirds/s6/profile.php?squad=14

You will find that the 4th FG has flown Axis equipment during portions of 145 S3 pilot-Frames.

Happy trails...

As to numbers the Japanese side is all fighters.

The Allied side is a mix of fighters, bombers and strike aircraft.

There are only two pure FG's on the allied side. All the other groups are either mixed or bombers.

The sides have never been "equal" unless it is a fantasy event or the historical event the series is based on showed relatively even force strength. Most often you will find Axis far outnumbered in late war scenarios. It's okay we don't mind being the gruff, sweaty, mustachio, spike helmet no one wants to sit with in the bar.

The 4th requirement was hashed out again last year. Reference this post-

I had a post typed out and went off before I hit 'submit'.

Zin - thank you for digging out that thread.

Omega - It would be very disappointing if you all went back to strictly Allied, though, I would support your decision and reasoning to do so. There are some on the Axis side who will not want to fly Allied. I seem to recall another thread where the decision TO fly Axis was conditioned by only in scenario events where the 4th did NOT participate IRL.
