6. Squad Basing - IJN may use any of their CVs to land and take off from. US may only base 1 squad at each airfield to start, after which they may rebase anywhere. US may only launch their a/c in Frame 1 after one ground object has been destroyed. If their airfields are capped they may choose to launch from their CVs instead, but only with F4F3s. Otherwise they are forced to scramble P40Bs from mainland airfields. In Frame 2 all airfields that are closed will force any squads without an airfield to launch from the CV instead.

This came up as a question in frame 2 after we seen f4f's in the air. I understand this rule as "if your airfield is capped".... In frame 2 you are able to roll at T+0 and there is no time for us to cap the field.

Am I reading it wrong or should there not have been any F4F's in the air?

F4Fs were available from the git-go off of the CVs in Frames 1 & 2.
The verbiage was interpreted: IF you are assigned a land base, and you do not go otr, THEN you could switch to the CV, or any other open field at which no other Squad was based, IF your field was capped. Alternately, ONLY F4F aircraft were available on the CVs and ONLY P-40 aircraft were available on land. In Frame 2 the P-36C became available at ONE field.

Just remember once you launch you are stuck and bound by the non-teleporting rules.
Frame CO needs to assign squads to airfields and CVs on the fly at the start...F4F3s can then head to Oahu and land at any open airfields there...

USN CVs are at 12,4,1 hdg 000 at 20mph.

To use the F4F3 you must take off from the CV but can replane at any airfield.
To use the P36C you must be stationed at F12 but can replane at any airfield.
P40B is in use at any airfield.

F4,F5 and F6 are destroyed before the frame begins...

Happy trails...

According to the rules, it says if your airfield is capped you can launch from the CV in F4F3's. The next line says "Otherwise they are forced to scramble P40B's from any mainland field. No fields were capped in Frame 2 at the start, so with the exception of the P36, there should have only been P40B's on the Allied side.

From Jabo's posts, he made one set up rules for general distribution and then told the Allies a different rule. :(
