WB works fine on this PC but after I copy program on flash drive and put on different PC I get an error msg when I try to open.
It say d3dx9_42.dll is missing.

What am I doing wrong?

BTW
Almost time to send in the maintenance teams and get the birds ready! Hope all has had a great summer so far.

Does your other PC have directX 9.0c on it? Looks like you are missing a Direct X file. New computers are into D11/12 so they will not have drivers for 9.0c games on them.

The default location it provides should suffice. It should put it somewhere in the Windows directory. DirectX is a system driver that allows it understand what the application (warbirds) is telling it to function.

When I go to link you provided I find a number of files that can be downloaded. So when I found one that had the name "aspx?id+8109" in it I tried it. After Dwn. load I hit run and had it put in WB 2016 folder--well when I try and open WB I still get the msg "d3dx9_42.dll is missing"

What now?

It is a SYSTEM driver, not a Warbirds file.

This is the download you want: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34429

After download the web browser should ask to open or run. Run the program and it will download where it is suppose to. You shouldn't have to do anything but push run and finish, don't change the location of it asks.
