Many things said here much more eloquently than I. Disbelief and a true heartfelt sadness are what I'm feeling now.
Roger (Dewolf) was always there, willing to do more and had things ready for you before you even considered asking.

Truly the world is a lesser place since he passed.
My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

I received the news from some mutual (non-warbirds) friends....He apparently passed in his sleep is all the details I have.

RIP Wolf! Blue skies and tailwinds....you'll be missed by many!

Very sorry to hear this news.
The few times I spoke with him on TS, going over S3 plans, I got the sense he was a true gentleman with a ton of aviation knowledge.
I enjoyed talking aviation with him, and seeing various images from his enormous library of photos.
He had a true love of Aviation and it's history.

<S> sir, you will be missed.

I struggle to handle these deaths of close virtual friends. There has been too many lately. It is not like deaths of those you see in person. Every one of them is a sucker punch in the dark. I was just starting to accept Vadr's and now this.

Dewolf was one of the number watchers that kept my stats straight. We corresponded a lot about stats, rules, and campaign ribbons. He never came across as complaining, and always respected the answer. Easily one of my favorites to correspond with. He has been quietly impacting Warbirds and the S3's for years (decades?), yet most are not aware of his influence. That's because he was not a blow hard. Such a modest guy.

I am crushed, again.

Damn! Two of my best friends in one year! I was on the phone with him just a few weeks ago and he sounded fine. He was just a very nice guy, the best, like mentioned always going the extra mile and always with a smile and grace. If anyone can find out about the funeral arrangements please let us know or PM me.

Rest in Peace my dear friend...I immensely enjoyed our years of friendship and will miss you very much...

I'm always at a loss to say something at times like these. I extend my condolences to all his family and those in the family of Warbirds. We will miss him.

S! Dewolf.

I didn't know him well but have only had good impressions of Dewolf. Always dedicated, respectful and helpful. I really appreciated his input when trying to CO in the S3's.

Blue skies and a Salute!

Wow! And bad news on this day of honoring our fallen

Waiting to hear more from Todd, but this had to be quick and Wolf and I talked frequently, even when flying on opposite sides. No indication of long term illness or whatever just a few weeks ago.

Many of us are moving along, and I am older than Wolf and most others flying the S3.

I offer a toast from my C-flight tradition ....

"So hold your goblet steady,
For we come from a brotherhood that flies,
Here's a toast to the dead already,
and a low, fast pass for the next man that dies!!"

So I walk out now and throw a nickel on the grass. The world is a lesser place when we lose such folks.

Gums sends....

Wow. Sorry to hear the bad news.

After seeing the picture you posted, I'm pretty sure I met him at that event.

RIP dewolf and blue skies.
