Final Frame overview Allied Radar perspective.

Hitler's vengeance weapons are being unleashed on civilians in London.
Highest priority orders have come down to shoot these missiles from the sky. Protect London!!

Our intel has identified activity at a cluster of launch sites... previous attacks have been launched at London from these bases. our assignment is to focus on these launch sites and shoot down anything heading toward London.

We were aware of possible enemy attacks to disrupt our intercept, so we divided into two groups.
Group 1 Missile intercept
hold back, identify missiles and guide fighters to intercept.

Group 2 Combat Air Patrol
engage enemy fighters looking to disrupt Missile interception.

We had separate radar operators to lessen confusion.
I was Radar Op for interceptors so I will give that perspective.

groups were easily discernable at first as we set up our assigned areas. It was hard to hold back the pilots as they wanted to intercept as early as possible to keep them from getting through. Enemy fighters appeared to be coming in on the missile's projected course... First target was indeed a missile. All interceptors were vectored to this as it was a lone missile. Not sure who but we were able to shoot it down and set back up.

Things then started getting hairy. lots of confusion and missiles coming in... CAP fighters did a good job engaging the enemy leaving the interceptors to do their work... We were able to intercept all known missiles but one. (I believe)
Our interceptors kept creeping forward into the CAP area of operation and were chastised several times to remain on station.

All in all the interceptors did well. multiple kills by Slapshot, Jedi, charco & Chouch carried on thru the night.
There were several times where the enemy gave us a scare, but the CAP was always there to help.

Distance from home base made things very hard on our foes, and the Tempests were able to run from trouble usually.

Interesting night... would have liked to join in flight but there never seemed to be a good time. So we just stayed in position.

<S> to the Luftwaffe as their mission was extremely difficult outside of radar coverage and home territory.

Thanks Muzz for the Ideas and planning and Setup.

Thanks for the recap Coolon.

Final frame was indeed difficult for the LW side. Our V1s must have gotten some bad fuel. They seemed slow. Our fighters could easily keep pace with the rockets.

The Spit 14 and Tempest really outclassed our 109Gs and 190As, esp in speed and climb rates. Between thick ACK and swarming allied fighters we were pretty much ineffective in protecting the buzz bombs. Not sure any V1s got through. Looked like most Allied fast fighters staged near London to intercept the rockets. We saw little activity near the coast.

Hitler's dream of super weapons raining down on London totally collapsed in the last frame. The long ride home made for a short night. Once you emptied your tanks, your were pretty much done. Think I landed with 5 gallons and little time to get back into the fight.

Fun series overall. We all surely appreciate Muzz's long hours setting up a fun series. Nicely done Allies <S>
