A longer flight for the Allies, but axis turnout was a bit low and they were unable to take full advantage of it. Allies managed two bomber sorties, heavily damaging the extensive facilities at Oil Storage 91, but ran out of time to launch a third sortie to deliver the coup de grace. Allies 15 unique pilots (5 in B17s, 10 in Spits) 35 sorties (10 in B-17s, 25 in Spits) 7 Spits lost ( 5 to 109s) 2 B17s 2 AI (1 B17 and 2 AIs to 190s) 4 pilots KIA, 4 POW Axis 5 Unique pilots (3 in 109s, 2 in 190s) 15 sorties (10 in 109s, 3 in 190s) 2 109s lost (both to Spitfires) 2 190s lost (one to B-17 gunners) No pilots killed or POW. Frame ruled an Axis victory. Rule reminder - ~70% of Axis must fly the 190, so three or four, vice two pilots should have flown that airframe in frame 4. |
