Top post has been updated with the following text:

[i]Note that if you land at an airfield that is non-operational for that frame, there will only be a transport plane available and you need to fly the transport back to an operational airfield to get back in a fighter or bomber. For each frame it will be stated which fields are operational and which only have transports. Landing at a friendly village/town makes you lose the airframe but not the life.

* The Russian side has the C-47 as transport plane. Players are not allowed to troop fields.
* The Finnish side has the Bristol F.2B as transport plane. Must use "Fighter" loadout, no bombing is allowed.

It has also been updated with available airfields for frame 1.

Has anyone flight tested the I 16? It seems impossible to take off.

edit... the plane seems very susceptible to prop torque on take off...try using 70% throttle and full trim with the 'L' key.

Once you get it in the air keep it fast.
The Fokker is slower but turn better, so use boom and zoom with the I 16.

Don’t get too slow with it as the pitch will get slightly wonky. But that is historically correct

I flew it last week for a while and once you get used to it, it’s effective.

The second post has been updated with operational fields and the planesets + plane rules for both sides for frame 2.

Regarding the I-16 I believe the landing gear is a little to narrowly set in the 3d model. This causes it to be unstable in the roll on take off. Unfortunately I do not have the 3d models so can't correct it. I recommend to use maximum 50% throttle on take off until the nose drops, then go full boost.

The flaps are set to retract once above 1 mph. This since the I-16 did not use flaps in real life. It was later equipped with flaps, but the pilots strongly disliked them due to problems etc, and had the mechanics make them stay shut. (Unfortunately the code doesn't allow for no flaps, so had to give the I-16 flaps that retracted as soon as the plane starts rolling).

Make sure to push throttle up slowly

The fourth post has been updated with planesets and operational airfields. While the Finnish airforce has somewhat more potent planes in frame 4, their distance from operational airfields to the frontline is further than for the Russians.
