S3 MVM Feedback Sounding Board

Thank you all for participating in this first S3 under new leadership. Attendance with strong for our present time and I know of a number of pilots who are planning to participate in later frames but could not in this first one because of conflicting obligations.

The S3 is dear to many of us and for some the sole purpose of their participation. In know for me that is the case. While I enjoy the daily adventures of the other arenas, for me none provide the same exhilaration and sense of true virtual combat with realistic online consequences than the S3.

I want this post to help guide the S3 with feedback from the participants. I hope you will contribute meaningful suggestions or critics that are designed to help improve the game we all enjoy.

Going over the victory points allocation in the series summary document (still not updated for Frame 1) and ignoring frame 1 results, given the ability of all LW aircraft to carry ordinance and the higher points awarded to the LW for kills of Allied fighters and equal points awarded for field closures et al, I do not see any way the Allies could win this series barring total incompetence of the axis frame COs, which I consider unlikely.

Recommend giving Allies higher points for field closures/ship sinkings et al and/or equal out points for fighter losses (where you bail/ditch being more important for points) and/or reduce VP for Allied bomber kills (Bomber Command losses at this time were not really critical to the outcome of the battle).

For your consideration,

Respectfully,

Appears to me that all the allies have to do to win is to not fly any bombers that might get shot down and make sure you kill axis bombers. Which is what happened frame 1... I suspect the Allies won frame 1.

All we (the allies) had to do was to not let 6 or 18 or the DAR to close and we would have won.... the axis closed all three of those...to be honest I'm glad the points are as close as they are given these closures.

Yes, perfection is fleeting but a worth goal.

I am still learning a lot from this and appreciate all the input. I was apprehensive about how the Frame 1 scoring would fall and was 'pleasantly' surprised at the closeness of the totals. Frame two will be interesting. As soon as I have Phenix's parse log data for Frame 2, I will plug in the numbers and we shall see.

We will review all the comments and will ask all the Frame COs to help compile a list of suggestions for possible inclusion in the following series.

The nature and requirements of each S3 with determine whether we implement or not.
